2nd Auntie is coming back from HK today. I gave her a call yesterday and she is taking CX717 which will arrive at Changi Airport Terminal 1 at about 1230hrs. We decided to go to Old Town ECP for breakfast then make our way to Airport to laze the morning away while waiting for her. ( I am now at TCC! ). I found another TCC love spot . The boutique I am currently at has window seats which looks into the arrival hall. THis place is relatively quiet compared with Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. If not for the expensive parking charges ( about $2 per hour ) , I probably would have come here more often! )

I was reading the Sunday Times and came across SUmiko Tan’s article on Buyer’s Remorse. I love Sumiko Tan’s articles mainly for one reason, I usually can relate to what she wrote. In this morning’s edition, she talked about buying things and realise that she doesnt really need to use it. Sounds like me too! The only difference is everything i buy , i will use it. The question is just how long. haha

Well , as she mentioned, too bad we are not in United States which allows  you to do full refund of items that you decided that you do not have a use for it. I start to run through my brains to see which are the items i pay more than $300 and I am not really using them.. a few items came into my mind

(1) PS3 – Well i DID use it , just for playing DVDs which cant be played on that crappy Samsung Player.

(2) Wii – This probably only come to use when I have friends over for party. Right now, Roy Ho is helping me to fully utilise it :D

(3) Mio TV – This doesnt exactly costs over $300, and i forgot the reason why i took this. But i never watch any movies in it at all, even though they are free. Cos i find the movies sucks. If they ever want me to pay for it , i will cancel the subscription immediately!

Good thing i can only think of 3 for now. :)

HTC Magic

Saw the advertisement on the Saturday Straits Time. This wasnt in my budget planning. I am supposed to get a good printer ( probably Canon MP988 ) and maybe Canon D500 SLR camera.
Went down to paragon to take a look at this 2nd android phone that is released by HTC in the market and boy i fell in love with it immediately.

1. The physical size, especially its thickness is now greatly reduced with the removal of the hardware qwerty keyboard.

2. It comes preload with CupCake ( Android Firmware 1.5 ) which should be pushed to the HTC Dream version sooner or later. Tons of features and upgrades on Cupcake compared to the current version. ( whats the current version codename call ? )

3. Although i will miss the hardware keyboard which allows me to type relatively faster, but when i tried out the HTC Dream soft keyboard, it is quite responsive and it has a numeric keypad SMS input ( The conventional handphone sms way ) which i always liked. The reason is because i can actually send sms without looking at the phone ( it should have tactile feedback on keypress ) . So i guess this is give and take.

4. The battery life performance reported is significantly better. It should be able to last more than a day according to reviews that i have read.

5. I can trade in my HTC Dream for $400!! That makes this dude about $198 with a 2 yr contract.

I must get it! I probably get a cheaper printer and put camera plans on hold for this month :P

Woh, Mrs Chan allows me to buy the 2 items below. I have a fully equipped Kitchen now!

I bought T3 magazine today and saw 2 items in it that i want to get! the AMR came just at the right time

#1 Street Fighter 4 ( PS3 )
I think i hardly touch my PS3 now other than using it to watch HK TVB DVDs that i record on my own. I cannot even rememeber the last game i played on it. I think is GTA? Or issit some online games i downloaded on Playstation Network. Nevertheless, i wasnt really on the hook for PS3 news , partly because i am always reading about content updates on WOTLK. patch 3.1 is coming!

The first time i saw SF4 is in Taipei when they are showing the demo. Immediately my shopaholic itch came back. I forgotten about it a couple of days later and today i saw in in the magazine and i went to youtube and googled on the reviews and demos.

According to T3 , ( which gave it a 5/5 star review )
Love : Reviving of older techniques for special sneak attacks, noob-friendly ( Yes the word NOOB appear again )
Hate : Leniency on combo moves

Definately must get it! too bad no 2nd hand on forum…

Audio-Technica ATH-CKM50

I always wanted to get another pair of earphones. I have one SOny Good one. But that one has noise cancellation and not really siutable to bring out unless i am on the plane. Why ? because it got a small box along the earphone lines ( should be the noise cancellation unit ) .

I wanted to get Bose QC3, but that is too expensive ( $500+ ). Then i came across CKM50.. looks nice… affordable and it got 5/5 stars from T3 again! But i cannot find a dealer in signapore that sells AT earphones. I saw it in exhibition booths before . Did a google didnt manage to find any “reputable” shops either. Weelead told me try Best Denki.

hmm….
