Pros and Cons
1. You are ensured 1 month per year of service, if you are lucky you get a job in less than a month and you get on with a new career with a lump sum of money as savings. However looking at the economy now , you probably will not be able to find a job so soon. Consider that retrencement now is globally and there are a lot of people that will be eyeing on the same job as you do. And there is a potential that you will also suffer a paycut.

2. You get to have a job and find a new job at the same time , however, severance package may changed and you may not get as much as grp 1. Moreover, who can guarantee they dont change or extend the timeframe when your time is up

3. You dont get the $$$, but u keep your job. Probably wont have a career anymore but if Motorola gets another Steve Jobs, you became the elite group that bring MDB back to life.

Either 1 2 or 3, this is already sealed. Bosses are typing the letters and verdict will be out next week. Whichever one that you get assigned to , take it , accept it and move on. Just make sure you make friends with people in (3) cos you can always come back next time

Things i wanna do in 2009

1. Stay healthy – twice a week gym, once a week 10km run.
2. Stay Employed – Hopefully Moto is not retrenching, if it is, i need to start building a career somewhere
3. Buy Honda CRV – Depends on (2)
4. Time to start a family!

Partly influenced by my secondary school friends who has them and is enjoying themselves with it everytime we go out. partly cos of year end , the shopping spree syndrome is back. nevertheless, is a good buy!

Maybe is time to trade in and get another car. Ever since the warranty expired in April 2008, this is the 4th major incident of service repair

Incident 1 – Wiper pump Spoilt
Incident 2 – Power Sterring PUmp Spoilt
Incident 3 – Starter Spoilt

And today, 1 week after incident 3, the “Battery Charge Fault” comes out, the car breakdown and need a TOW truck to come and tow it!!
